Parallax (Country side, city night, city destroyed)
A downloadable asset pack
Hi everyone,
This is the second series of parallax (you can find the first series here: https://bongseng.itch.io/parallax-forest-desert-sky-moon)
This 2nd series is still somewhat of a work in progress. I am not 100% satisfied with the current result but I am not sure I will have time to work on it in the coming weeks/months.
I tried a different approach (longer scene with higher resolution) but I think it was a "bad-good" idea.
Still, I think the parallax are "usable" as they are and that someone with a bit of patience could improved them quite easily so I am sharing them with you guys.
Also, they can be mixed together or be combined with some layers of the first series (skies, cloud and background mountains work well if you adjust the color grading a bit)
As for the first set, these work best for side shooter "a la R-type delta" or other game of the genre but I guess they could work in other types of game as well.
In this file you will find:
- Country-side parallax: 10 layers
- City parallax (night): 7 layers
- City parallax (destroyed): 6 layers
BONUS:
This time I only put the first version of the player ship, there is only 3 frames (up - mid - down). It really is nothing much but if it can help someone to get some variety for their game prototype (As enemy for example) here it is.

Your parallaxes are fantastic, REALLY awesome job! I appreciate how vividly colored they are, and all the little details you poured into the city/countryside ones in particular!

Of course! I wish I had the spare cash to donate/buy every cool asset pack I come across like yours, but alas, I am but a po' boy... But maybe someday my "aspiring self-taught, solo, indie game dev" dreams will pay off, and I'll make the next Stardew Valley or Dwarf Fortress or whatever XD But until then, my philosophy is that rating/commenting is the LEAST I can do to pay it forward when an artist generously offers their work for free.
Anyway, you earned yourself a follow lol, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for any of your future work!
